Marcelli e Magnolfi, based in Vaiano (PO), is a contract carded spinning mill specialising in the production of solid and mélange yarns. The company uses various types of fibres, including natural ones such as wool, silk, cotton, cashmere and angora; regenerated fibres; artificial ones such as viscose and acetate; and synthetic ones such as polyester, nylon and acrylic.
The production process begins with the preparation of the raw materials, which are beaten to remove impurities and then oiled for carding. During carding, the material is transformed into a thin web and then into warp beams. These are loaded onto the spinning frames, where, through twisting, the final yarn is obtained.
The company stands out for its innovation in the field of stretch carded yarn, using LYCRA 44 d-tex elastomer inserted into the core of the thread. This gives the yarn greater durability, colour retention and optimal workability, keeping its characteristics intact even during steaming.
