Fortex, The Art of textile recycling
We are located in the heart of the Prato textile district, a place iconic worldwide for regenerated wool.
Here, we develop our collections and study solutions to make every garment recyclable, beautiful and responsible, using processes that protect the environment and improve people’s lives.
Fortex was founded in 1963 with the idea of merging Prato’s tradition of regenerated textiles with the pursuit of a fashion product for menswear in the Northern European markets.
In the following decades it created other product ranges such as the knitwear of the Knit line and the cottons of Cotton Lab, and today it produces and exports over one million metres per year to 44 countries around the world. Having worked predominantly with recycled materials from the very first day, Fortex has an enormous heritage of textile know-how, so that its fabrics are not only beautiful and innovative but also durable and environmentally friendly.
