M.& A. di Sanesi Alessandro & C. Sas, based in Prato, is a company specialised in the selection, production and sale of recycled mechanical wool for weaving and knitwear. Born from the passion and experience of Alessandro Sanesi, it carries forward the legacy of generations engaged in the heart of the Prato district. It has always promoted the conscious reuse of textile materials, in the name of environmental sustainability and made in Italy quality.
For generations, M.& A. di Sanesi Alessandro & C. Sas has operated in the heart of Prato, world capital of regenerated fabric, contributing with expertise and vision to the recycled carded wool supply chain. The company handles the selection, processing and distribution of recycled mechanical wool, intended for weaving and knitwear, with stock always available in a wide variety of types, colours and finenesses.
The materials processed range from worsted mechanical wool to combed or carded clippings, with wool percentages from 70% to 97%. Each lot is sorted, selected and inspected: foreign fibres are removed, the material is cleaned and then wet rag-tearing is carried out, all without the use of dyes or chemicals. The water used is recycled, energy consumption is contained, and emissions are kept to a minimum. The result is a regenerated yarn that is already coloured, ready to give life to new garments with a considerably lower environmental impact than traditional production.
Our mechanical wool comes from textile waste, industrial by-products, garment-making clippings and used materials. Once sorted by colour, fineness and wool content, it is reintegrated into new production cycles, in a system that cuts waste and enhances existing resources.
M.& A. di Sanesi Alessandro & C. Sas is an active member of Cardato Riciclato Pratese (Prato Recycled Carded Wool) and AS.T.R.I., two organisations that promote a textile culture based on ethics, circularity and responsible innovation.
